The Johannesburg Society for the Prevention of cruelty to animals (JSPCA) has been serving the greater Johannesburg since 1902. We are a registered non-profit, public benefit, non-government organization affiliated to the National Council of SPCA’s. In 2008, the Krugersdorp SPCA was incorporated into the Johannesburg SPCA due to lack of management capacity therefore creating financial difficulties. This therefore, increased our service area from 700 square kilometres to approximately 1500 square kilometres. (Click here to view the footprints of each Branch) The JSPCA operates as a City of Johannesburg pound, which means that stray animals are kept at our facility for a specific Stray Period, prior to being made available for adoption.canada goose takki FUNDING The JSPCA does not receive government funding, and we rely completely on the generosity of corporate companies and members of the public to ensure that our much needed services can be continued in the future.
